1984 batch IAS officer and Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Durga Shanker Mishra, will be on leave from 7 December to 14 December.
In his absence, 1988 batch IAS officer Manoj Kumar will be overseeing the charge of chief secretary of the state. Mr. Kumar is presently serving as the Agriculture Production Commissioner (APC), Infrastructure & Industrial Development Commissioner (IIDC) & Additional Chief Secretary, Panchayat Raj, Horticulture & Food Processing and Co-ordination.
Meanwhile, it is being said that Mr. Mishra might get another 6 months extension as his current stint of CS will end on December 31.
He was given one year extension on December 30, 2022. It was the second extension for Mr. Mishra.
He has been serving on the post of Chief Secretary since January 2021. Prior to this, he was the Housing and Urban Affairs Secretary and Chairman of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.
Mr. Mishra is Graduate (B Tech) in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur. He also holds an MBA degree in international business from the University of Western Sydney. He also holds a postgraduate diploma in public policy from the International Institute of Social Studies, The Hague.
