IAS Officer Ardra Agarwal Repatriated to Parent Cadre on Personal Grounds

New Delhi: In a significant development, 2007 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre, Ms Ardra Agarwal, currently serving as the Director of Census Operations (DCO) and Director of Citizen Registration (DCR) for Gujarat, Daman & Diu, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli, has been prematurely repatriated to her parent cadre.

An order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, confirmed that the competent authority had approved the proposal from the Office of the Registrar General of India to repatriate Agarwal on personal grounds. The repatriation also includes the provision of an extended cooling-off period.

Agarwal had been appointed to the post of DCO/DCR on December 23, 2021, and her tenure has now come to an end earlier than expected. The move is part of the government’s ongoing administrative adjustments and personnel management in response to personal circumstances.
