Manish Jain, a seasoned Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the 1994 batch in West Bengal, has been appointed as the State Editor for West Bengal District Gazetters. The announcement came as Jain currently serves as the Principal Secretary in the School Education Department of West Bengal.
In addition to his responsibilities in the School Education Department, Jain has also been entrusted with the additional charge of the Higher Education Department. This demonstrates the state government’s confidence in his administrative acumen and his ability to handle multiple portfolios effectively.
Jain’s extensive experience in the civil service, coupled with his leadership skills, makes him a fitting candidate for the role of State Editor. As State Editor, he will oversee the compilation and publication of the West Bengal District Gazetters, vital documents containing comprehensive information about the various districts of the state.
With his new appointment, Jain is poised to play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is made available to policymakers, researchers, and the general public. His dedication to public service and his track record of excellence are expected to contribute significantly to the successful execution of his new responsibilities.
