In a significant administrative development, the Madhya Pradesh government has promoted Mr. Manish Rastogi, a 1994-batch IAS officer, to the post of Additional Chief Secretary (ACS). The General Administration Department issued the official promotion order, which will come into effect from June 1, 2025.
Mr. Rastogi, who was previously serving as the Principal Secretary of the Finance Department, will now assume a broader leadership role following the retirement of Mr. Vinod Kumar, the former ACS and Director of the Tribal Research Institute. This elevation is expected to enhance administrative efficiency and provide experienced leadership in key areas of governance.
Known for his extensive experience in public administration, Mr. Rastogi has held several important assignments across departments, particularly in finance. As Principal Secretary, he played a pivotal role in ensuring financial stability in the state and managing budgetary policies effectively. His promotion to ACS will also make him responsible for overseeing financial policymaking and the administrative functions of the Board of Revenue.
The promotion order was issued by Chief Secretary Mr. Anurag Jain. It reflects the government’s recognition of Mr. Rastogi’s administrative acumen and long-standing contributions to Madhya Pradesh’s development.
This step is seen as a move to strengthen the state’s revenue policy and financial framework. Mr. Rastogi’s elevation is anticipated to accelerate economic and administrative reforms, offering a new direction to Madhya Pradesh’s development agenda.
