IAS officer Shubha Sarma is all set with her second book

IAS officer Shubha Sarma has successfully published her second novella titled “The Awasthis of Aamnagri.” This work of fiction by her is set in the 70s and 80s and talks about a middle class family of Lucknow. The story is woven around a quest for bungalow involving the Awasthi family and how it impact their family. Published by Niyogi Books, the book is full of humour and satire and available on Amazon. 

Let it be noted that the 1999 batch officer of Odisha cadre enter the literary filed with her first novel “Fly on the Wall and Other Stories” in August 2013. Her work was appreciated and became popular among the readers. It  is a collection of 13 short stories, with subjects ranging from up-market settings (Dinner at Bukhara) to deep social strife (Flesh and Blood). The stories are  set in familiar landscapes such as Lucknow, Assam and Odisha. These were stories of everyday life, around themes that we encounter in urban or semi-urban settings.
