In a discreet meeting held at a local hotel, the IAS Officers’ Association of a state convened under the leadership of its President to address growing concerns over political interference in administrative decisions. Approximately 15 officers participated in the gathering.
During the discussions, the officers expressed unease about challenges arising from political directives and resolved to uphold rule-based governance. The association decided collectively to refrain from acting on oral orders and to adhere strictly to established rules and regulations.
It was also resolved that if undue pressure is exerted by the government, they would prioritize procedural integrity by maintaining a record of such instances and ensuring all actions align with the legal framework. The association emphasized the importance of safeguarding administrative autonomy to maintain the credibility of the civil service.
