New Delhi: IAS officer Pawan Yadav has been appointed as the private secretary to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, according to an official order issued on Wednesday.
Mr Yadav, a 2014-batch officer from the Manipur cadre, was previously serving as deputy secretary in the Union Home Ministry. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the curtailment of his tenure as deputy secretary, with his new role taking effect immediately.

His appointment as private secretary to Shah will be effective until April 2, 2027, or until the completion of his term, the order mentioned.

Mr Yadav has been recognized for his exemplary service, including receiving the Prime Minister’s Award for his outstanding work as District Collector of Bishnupur. In 2018, he was lauded on Civil Services Day for his efforts in promoting the government’s Digital Payments mission, encouraging cashless and digital financial transactions.
