Patna: IAS officer Priyanka Rani, 2019 batch, has assumed charge as the Director of the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) Welfare Department. After taking office, she emphasized that the overall social, educational, and economic development of SC and ST communities will be her top priority.
Focus on Transparent Implementation of Welfare Schemes
Director Priyanka Rani stressed the importance of ensuring that all welfare schemes run by the department are implemented efficiently, on time, and transparently, in line with the government’s objectives. She underlined that eligible beneficiaries will receive the intended support without delays or irregularities.

Emphasis on Quality Education and Holistic Development
Highlighting Dr. Ambedkar Welfare Hostels and Residential Schools, she said that special attention would be given to improving academic standards, basic infrastructure, discipline, and the overall development of students. Providing a conducive environment, quality education, and necessary facilities to students residing in these institutions will be a key departmental priority.
Strict Accountability for Officials and Staff
The Director warned that any negligence, indifference, or lack of cooperation in scheme implementation will not be tolerated. Strict action will be taken against those who hinder departmental functioning or fail to fulfill their responsibilities.

Priyanka Rani added that transparency, accountability, and sensitivity will be ensured in departmental operations.
