The IAS Association of Chhattisgarh has asked IAS Ranbir Sharma to speak to the parents of the boy and explain besides compensating him for the phone from his personal income. Actually, the 2012 batch IAS officer Mr. Sharma was criticised all over internet for slapping a young man named Aman Mittal and breaking his phone allegedly for breaking lockdown norms.

The DM's version is that the youth was over speeding. The youth's version is that he had gone to hospital to deliver food.

After this incident, the CM of Chhattisgarh Bhupesh Baghel ordered the removal of officer and apologised from the family. CM also directed the official to provide a new phone to Mr. Mittal.
The video of Mr. Sharma slapping the youth went viral on that day. After which several other civil servant including the IAS association criticised him for his behaviour. Now, Chhattisgarh IAS association’ Chief has also expressed his concern on that incident.
In a tweet Mr. Khaitan said, “This is regarding the behaviour of Ranbir Sharma, Collector, Surajpur. The officer has already apologized for the unfortunate incident that happened yesterday. He can also speak to the parents of the boy and explain. TheThe person in the video is not a minor. Still, a senior officer should not behave like this”.
