New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the temporary assignment of additional charge to S Gopalakrishnan (IAS: 1991: Tamil Nadu cadre). Gopalakrishnan, who is currently serving as Chairman of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), will also hold the additional charge of Chairman, National Recruitment Agency (NRA).
This arrangement will continue until a permanent chairperson is appointed to the NRA or until further instructions are issued.

By entrusting Gopalakrishnan with this dual leadership role, the government aims to maintain administrative continuity and ensure uninterrupted progress in the NRA’s mandate. The NRA is tasked with conducting the Common Eligibility Test (CET) and streamlining recruitment for various central government posts.
