Sanjay Kumar, a 1990-batch IAS officer from the Bihar cadre, has been given additional charge as the Department of Higher Education Secretary. The decision, approved by the competent authority, is effective immediately and will continue until a regular appointment is made or further instructions are issued.
Currently serving as the Secretary of the Department of School Education & Literacy, Kumar has a distinguished career in the education sector. His prior roles include Secretary of Youth Affairs and Principal Secretary for Education in Bihar, where he spearheaded numerous reforms.
With this additional responsibility, Kumar is expected to play a key role in shaping the higher education landscape of the country, leveraging his vast experience in policy-making and administration.
