New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the extension of central deputation tenures for two senior officers – Ms Juhi Verma (IDAS:2010) in the Ministry of Home Affairs and Mr Sanjay Lohiya (IAS:1994:AM) in the Ministry of Mines. The decision was announced via an official order by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on May 30, 2025.
Sanjay Lohiya to Serve in Ministry of Mines Till October 2027
Mr. Sanjay Lohiya, a 1994-batch IAS officer from the Assam-Meghalaya cadre, will continue as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Mines until October 27, 2027, or until further orders.
Lohiya began his deputation to the Ministry of Mines in October 2020 as Joint Secretary. A month later, in November 2020, he was empanelled for Additional Secretary-level posts. He was promoted to Additional Secretary in March 2021 and has been instrumental in overseeing several key initiatives within the ministry.
Juhi Verma’s Tenure Extended Till September 2027
Ms. Juhi Verma, currently serving as Director in the Ministry of Home Affairs, will now continue in her role until September 27, 2027. Her initial appointment on central deputation began in September 2020 as Deputy Secretary. Her position was subsequently upgraded to Director on January 1, 2023.
Originally appointed for a four-year term, Ms. Verma received a one-year extension in 2024, pushing her tenure to September 2025. With the latest two-year extension, her service in the ministry now spans a total of seven years. She is an officer of the 2010 batch of the Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS).
