In a tragic incident early Monday morning, a container truck collided with a tractor trolley carrying 60–61 pilgrims on National Highway 34 near Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. The pilgrims were en route from Kasganj to Gogamedi in Rajasthan when the accident occurred around 2:15 AM, claiming at least nine lives and leaving over 40 injured, including two in critical condition.
IAS Shruti, DM of Bulandshahr, Leads On-Ground Relief Efforts
Upon learning of the accident, Bulandshahr District Magistrate (DM) Shruti, a 2011-batch IAS officer, rushed to the scene and took immediate charge of the relief operations. Accompanied by SSP Singh and other senior officials, DM Shruti visited the injured at the local hospital, ensured proper medical care, and coordinated emergency response efforts on the ground.

She confirmed,
“This morning around 2:15 am, a collision took place between a trolley and a truck. Nine people have died so far. Two are in critical condition and undergoing treatment. The other injured are out of danger.”
She added that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had announced an ex-gratia compensation of ₹2 lakh for the families of the deceased and ₹50,000 for the seriously injured. “The government is providing full medical treatment to the injured,” she noted.
Who Is IAS Shruti?
