Bhopal: In a significant bureaucratic move, IAS officer Sufiyah Faruqui Wali (2009 batch, MP cadre) has been appointed as General Manager (Region) of the Food Corporation of India (FCI), Bhopal, under the Department of Food and Public Distribution.
According to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), her appointment will be for three years under the Central Staffing Scheme, on a deputation basis, effective from the date she assumes charge or until further orders.
A Sudden Shift in Assignment
Interestingly, this appointment comes just weeks after her previous posting. On August 8, 2025, Sufiyah was appointed as Director of Census Operations (DCO) and Director of Citizen Registration (DCR) for Madhya Pradesh, with a scheduled joining date of October 1. However, before she could assume that role, the central government reassigned her to the FCI—a clear sign of her growing importance in national-level administration.
