New Delhi: The Government of India has announced a series of key bureaucratic appointments and temporary charge allocations in the administrative hierarchy, impacting major ministries and investigative agencies.
V. L. Kantha Rao Assigned Additional Charge of Coal Ministry
1982 batch IAS officer V. L. Kantha Rao (Madhya Pradesh cadre), currently serving as Secretary, Ministry of Mines, has been given additional charge as Secretary, Ministry of Coal. This arrangement will be in effect from June 14 to June 23, 2025, during the leave of Shri Vikram Dev Dutt, IAS (AGMUT cadre, 1993 batch).
Devesh Chaturvedi to Oversee Ministry of Cooperation Temporarily
1989 batch IAS officer Devesh Chaturvedi (Uttar Pradesh cadre), the incumbent Secretary of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, will hold additional charge of Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation from June 16 to June 26, 2025. He assumes this role in the absence of Shri Ashish Kumar Bhutani, IAS (Assam-Meghalaya cadre, 1992 batch), who will be on leave.
Manisha Choudhary Appointed DIG in CBI
In another significant development, 2011 batch IPS officer Manisha Choudhary (Haryana cadre), has been appointed as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Her tenure in this crucial investigative role will span five years, reflecting the Centre’s trust in her service record and expertise.
