UP PCS 2024: 68 Candidates from 10 States Selected, 74 Districts Represented, 43 Abhyudaya Aspirants Succeed

CM Yogi noted that earlier such examinations mostly saw participation from local candidates, but now aspirants from across India are increasingly succeeding in UP’s state services exam.

Lucknow: The UP PCS 2024 examination has highlighted the growing national reach of Uttar Pradesh’s recruitment system, with 68 candidates from 10 states outside Uttar Pradesh securing success among the 932 selected candidates.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath described this as strong evidence of the increasing credibility and acceptance of Uttar Pradesh’s examination process across the country.

According to the state government, while Uttar Pradesh still accounts for the overwhelming majority of selections, candidates from states such as Bihar, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh have also secured significant representation.

68 Candidates from Outside Uttar Pradesh Selected

Out of the total 932 selected candidates:

• 864 candidates (92.7%) belong to Uttar Pradesh

• 68 candidates (7.3%) are from other states

State-wise outside UP selection

• 20 candidates from Madhya Pradesh

• 18 candidates from Haryana

• 12 candidates from Bihar

• 9 candidates from Delhi

Other successful candidates also came from:

• Uttarakhand

• Maharashtra

• Punjab

• Jharkhand

• Chhattisgarh

Candidates from 74 Districts of Uttar Pradesh Selected

The result also reflects wide internal representation across Uttar Pradesh.

Candidates from 74 out of 75 districts have made it to the final list.

Top-performing districts

• Lucknow — 8.24%

• Prayagraj — 5.34%

• Kanpur — 4.52%

• Agra — 3.02%

• Ayodhya — 2.78%

Importantly, candidates from smaller and relatively backward districts also found representation.

These include:

• Sambhal

• Kannauj

• Kasganj

• Mahoba

• Farrukhabad

Women Dominate Top Ranks, OBC Candidates Strongly Represented

The UP PCS 2024 result also shows strong social diversity.

• 8 candidates in top 20 belong to OBC category

Women in top ranks

Women have delivered one of the strongest performances this year.

• 4 out of top 5 ranks have been secured by women

• Women hold 80% representation in top five

This reflects rising female participation and success in state civil services.

Among the 932 selected candidates:

• General Category – 357

• OBC – 270

• SC – 186

• EWS – 97

• ST – 22

Abhyudaya Scheme Delivers 43 Successful Candidates

A major highlight of this year’s result is the performance of candidates trained under the Mukhyamantri Abhyudaya Yojana.

A total of 43 candidates who studied at Bhāgīdārī Bhawan in Lucknow under the scheme have been selected.

Vipin Dev Yadav’s Journey

Vipin Dev Yadav, a resident of Ambedkar Nagar, initially prepared from home.

In December 2024, he moved to Lucknow and joined the Chief Minister’s Abhyudaya coaching programme at Bhāgīdārī Bhawan.

For five months he combined classroom coaching with self-study.

His achievements include:

• Rank 316 in Civil Services Examination 2025

• Selected in UP PCS 2024 as Executive Officer in Panchayati Raj Department

His father Rajaram Yadav works as a watchman, while his mother Mewati Devi is a homemaker.
