Jaipur/Mumbai: Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Akanksha Mahajan, a 2003 batch officer, has returned to Rajasthan after completing her central deputation. She formally joined the Department of Personnel (DoP) in Jaipur on Friday.
Akanksha had proceeded on deputation to New Delhi in December 2021, where she served as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Central Zoo Authority. Prior to her central posting, she held the key role of Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) in Rajasthan, contributing significantly to wildlife governance and conservation efforts in the state.
Husband Siddharth Mahajan Also Returning Early from Centre
Akanksha Mahajan is married to IAS officer Siddharth Mahajan, who is also serving on central deputation. Currently posted as Joint Secretary (JS) in the Ministry of Commerce, his deputation tenure was originally scheduled to continue until September 2026.
However, the Centre is sending him back early upon the request of the Rajasthan government. According to sources, Siddharth Mahajan is expected to arrive in Jaipur next week. As earlier reported by First India, he is likely to be appointed as Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
IPS Suvez Haque Appointed IG (Planning & Coordination) in Maharashtra
Mumbai: Senior IPS officer Suvez Haque, who recently returned from central deputation and had been awaiting his new role, has been appointed Inspector General of Police (Planning and Coordination) for Maharashtra State.
To facilitate his posting, the position—previously of Addl. DGP rank—has been downgraded to IG rank.
Haque, known for his tenure as Superintendent of Police (SP), Pune Rural, was in office during the Koregaon Bhima violence, which occurred under his jurisdiction. Following the incident, he was transferred from Pune Rural Police to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Mumbai, and subsequently sent to France on deputation.
Strategic Administrative Movements Continue Across States
Both assignments—Akanksha Mahajan’s return to Rajasthan and Suvez Haque’s new role in Maharashtra—highlight the ongoing high-level administrative reshuffling taking place across states. These appointments are expected to strengthen governance and operational efficiency in their respective departments.
