Mohd. Noor Rahman Sheikh, a 2004-batch Indian Foreign Service officer, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Republic of Lebanon. He is expected to take up the assignment soon.
He is currently posted as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs.
He hails from Kshetrigao, Imphal East district in Manipur. He is the first from the Meetei-Pangal community of Manipur to be appointed as an Ambassador of India to a foreign country.
He is an ex-NDA and an MBA, and loves Yoga.
