Chandigarh: The Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has issued transfer and posting orders for 17 Indian Forest Service (IFS) and Punjab Forest Service (PFS) officers in the Forest and Wildlife Department. The move marks a significant administrative reshuffle aimed at strengthening forest and wildlife management across the state.
Key Appointments
The Department Secretary, Priyank Bharti, released the orders detailing the new postings –
- Basanta Raj Kumar has been appointed as the Chief Wildlife Warden.
- Archil Kumar has been assigned the role of Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Administration and Coordination).
- Nidhi Srivastava has been made the Chief Conservator of Forests (Plain Area).
- Mahavir Singh has been posted as Chief Conservator of Forests (Hilly Area).
- Nalin Yadav has been appointed as the Director of Chhatbir Zoo.
Other Transfers
In addition to these key postings, 12 other IFS/PFS officers have been transferred to new roles across the state. The reshuffle aims to optimize departmental functioning, strengthen conservation initiatives, and improve administrative efficiency in forest and wildlife management.
