IONS: India’s Maritime Vision Since 2008
Conceived by the Indian Navy in 2008, IONS provides an inclusive platform for dialogue on regionally relevant maritime issues. The forum enhances maritime cooperation among IOR navies and supports collective security.
Recently, the Indian Navy hosted the IONS Working Group on Maritime Security (IWG-MARSEC) in New Delhi from June 24 to 25, 2025. The meeting reinforced member navies’ collective resolve to safeguard a stable and secure Indian Ocean.
