Indian Oil organized a workshop titled “Catalysing Corporate Partnerships for Indoor Solar Cooking System” in New Delhi, in collaboration with Finovista. The workshop aimed to expand access to Surya Nutan, an innovative hybrid indoor solar cooking device developed by Indian Oil. Launched during India Energy Week 2023, the Surya Nutan system addresses various cooking needs while promoting sustainable, low-maintenance, and clean cooking practices in India.

The event was attended by several key figures including JK Jethani, Sr Director/Scientist-F at the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE); Dr. Vibha Dhawan, Director General at The Energy & Resources Institute (TERI); Milind Deore, Secretary at the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE); Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Chief Policy Advisor at Climate Parliament; Dr. Umish Srivastva, Executive Director at Indian Oil; and Sandeep Sharma, Executive Director at Indian Oil.
Discussions focused on product design, pricing, supply chains, and user adaptation, with an emphasis on corporate partnerships, policy initiatives, and leveraging carbon credits. Experts also examined mechanisms for financing clean cooking technologies and the use of CSR funds to expand Surya Nutan’s reach. The workshop concluded by highlighting the importance of collaboration in promoting sustainable cooking solutions and addressing societal challenges.
