Indraprastha Gas Limited Reports 9% Rise in Q2 FY26 Sales, PAT Up 5% Despite Rising Gas Costs

IGL’s CNG and PNG Segments Drive Growth; Company Expands City Gas Distribution Network Across Delhi, UP, Haryana, and Rajasthan
Indian Masterminds Stories

New Delhi: Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), India’s largest CNG distribution company, announced its unaudited financial results for the second quarter (Q2) of FY 2025–26, reflecting steady growth in sales and profitability while continuing its strategic expansion across key regions.

Sales and Segment-wise Performance

For the quarter ending September 2025, IGL recorded a 3% year-on-year increase in overall sales volume, with average daily sales rising from 9.03 mmscmd to 9.31 mmscmd. Segment-wise, CNG sales grew by 3%, while the Piped Natural Gas (PNG) segment posted a stronger growth of 6% compared to Q2 of FY 2024–25.

The company’s gross sales value surged 9% to ₹4,431.63 crore from ₹4,069.83 crore in the same quarter last year, highlighting the resilience of its distribution network amid fluctuating input costs.

Profitability Amid Rising Input Costs

IGL reported a Profit After Tax (PAT) of ₹372.51 crore for Q2 FY26, marking a 5% sequential increase from ₹355.94 crore in Q1 FY26. However, net profit showed a decline compared to ₹431.09 crore recorded in Q2 FY25 due to a significant rise in input gas costs. The results reflect the company’s standalone performance and exclude contributions from its associate companies.

Expansion and Infrastructure Highlights

IGL continues to strengthen its city gas distribution (CGD) footprint across 32 districts in 11 geographical areas, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan. With more than 28,000 km of pipeline infrastructure and a network of over 950 CNG stations, the company serves over 2.1 million CNG vehicles and supplies PNG to more than three million households.

Commitment to Clean Energy and Sustainability

Through its extensive CGD network, IGL remains at the forefront of India’s clean energy transition, providing sustainable, affordable, and accessible natural gas to millions of consumers. The company’s ongoing efforts in infrastructure expansion and service reliability continue to reinforce its role as a key player in India’s energy landscape.
