Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has launched the ‘Mahila Shaksham’ scheme to empower women entrepreneurs by providing financial assistance to individual Women Self-Help Group (SHG) members. This initiative is part of the Centre’s Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM).
Aligned with the Ministry of Rural Development’s ‘Lakhpati Didi Yojana’, the scheme aims to ensure women achieve financial self-reliance, with a target income of at least ₹1 lakh per household annually.
The key features include providing up to ₹10 lakh in credit support to individual SHG members, fostering entrepreneurship, and promoting financial independence among women across rural areas.
