New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the extension of central deputation tenures for two senior officers serving in key ministries, according to official orders issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday.
Ashish Kumar Gupta’s Deputation Extended by Two Years
Ashish Kumar Gupta, a 2002-batch Indian Ordnance Factories Service (IOFS) officer, will continue serving as Director in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) for an extended tenure of two more years. His central deputation, which began on July 16, 2020, was initially scheduled to end on July 15, 2025. With this extension, Gupta will now hold the position until July 15, 2027.
Gupta has been associated with MoSPI in various capacities and is known for his contributions to policy implementation and statistical governance.
Mustaq Ahmed Gets One-Year Extension at Ministry of Mines
Mustaq Ahmed, a 2006-batch Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) officer, will continue his role as Director in the Ministry of Mines for another year. His central deputation, which started on June 7, 2021, has now been extended until June 6, 2026. Ahmed has played a significant role in streamlining administrative and financial processes within the ministry.
These extensions come as part of routine administrative procedures to retain experienced officers in roles critical to policy execution and program oversight.
