Mumbai: In a significant engagement aimed at strengthening policy dialogue on police reform, Mr O.P. Singh, President & CEO of the Indian Police Foundation (IPF) and retired IPS officer of the 1983 UP cadre, met with the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, in Mumbai on August 25, 2025.
The meeting centered around the upcoming Annual Event of the Indian Police Foundation, with Mr Singh presenting the organisation’s vision and role as a progressive think tank focused on improving police functioning, capacity building, and meaningful policy advocacy.
Stalwarts in Policing Join the Delegation
Mr Singh was accompanied by a distinguished delegation of senior retired police officers, including:
- Mr A.N. Roy, former DGP of Maharashtra
- Mr N. Ramachandran, former DGP of Meghalaya and Founder of IPF
- Mr S.K. Jaiswal, former Director of the CBI
- Ms Rashmi Shukla, current DGP of Maharashtra
- Mr D.C. Jain, former Special Director of the CBI and now COO of IPF
Sharing about the meeting on X (formerly Twitter), Singh wrote, “I was fortunate to be accompanied by some wonderful colleagues and stalwarts in policing… Their wisdom and camaraderie made the meeting even more special.”
Presentation of Book to CM
During the interaction, Mr Singh presented a copy of his book, “Crime, Grime & Gumption”, to the Chief Minister. The book explores the complexities of crime and policing in India and reflects Mr Singh’s decades of experience in law enforcement and public service.

CM Fadnavis Shows Support for IPF Vision
According to Singh, the Chief Minister showed keen interest in the work of IPF and offered words of encouragement for the foundation’s upcoming initiatives.
“It was heartening to see the Chief Minister’s interest in our work and his encouraging words for the upcoming event. Moments like these strengthen our resolve to keep pushing for a better, more people-centric policing system,” Mr Singh noted in his social media post.
