The civil services fraternity witnessed a celebratory moment this week as IPS officer Aashna Chaudhary from Uttar Pradesh and IAS officer Abhinav Siwach from Haryana entered into wedlock on 27 November. The couple, both belonging to the 2022 batch, took their vows in a traditional ceremony attended by their families and close colleagues.
A reception followed two days later at a resort in Hisar, where several senior ministers from Haryana dropped by to congratulate the newlyweds.
Aashna Chaudhary: The IPS officer from Pilkhuwa
IPS officer Aashna Chaudhary, who is serving as ASP in Mathura, comes from Pilkhuwa in Hapur district, Uttar Pradesh. Known among her peers for her quiet determination, Aashna built an impressive academic record long before clearing the UPSC exam with AIR 116.
She studied at St Xavier’s School (Pilkhuwa), St Mary’s School (Udaipur) and Delhi Public School (Ghaziabad), scoring 96.5% in Class 12. She later graduated in English Literature from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University, and went on to complete a Master’s in International Relations from South Asian University in New Delhi.
Friends recall her as someone who always had clarity about joining the civil services, and her academic foundation played a large role in shaping her journey.
Abhinav Siwach: Haryana officer with a top UPSC rank
IAS officer Abhinav Siwach, currently posted as SDM Pehowa in Kurukshetra, traces his roots to Gorakhpur village in Fatehabad, though his family now lives in Hisar.
Abhinav secured an exceptional AIR 12 in the UPSC exam. His professional path has included a stint as Naib Tehsildar and later as SDM before joining the IAS.
He graduated from Delhi Technological University in 2016, completed an MBA from IIM Calcutta in 2018, and briefly worked as a consultant in the private sector. In 2020, he was selected for DANICS, which further strengthened his administrative exposure.
He comes from a family with a public service background—his father, Satbir Siwach, served as DETC in Hisar and Gurugram.
How the relationship began
Both officers trained together as part of the 2022 batch, and their camaraderie during probation gradually turned into a deeper bond. They exchanged rings in August 2025 in an intimate ceremony with their families.
Speaking at the time, Abhinav’s father said, “They met during training and liked each other. Abhinav told us about Aashna himself. Their happiness matters most to us.”
Ministers join the Hisar reception
The wedding festivities concluded with a reception on 29 November. The event saw the presence of several political leaders, including:
- Cabinet Minister Krishna Bedi, who attended the evening reception
- Cabinet Minister Rao Narbir Singh, who earlier visited the family’s residence to greet the couple
- Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda, who also stopped by to extend his best wishes
