New Delhi: In a recent administrative reshuffle, IPS officer Deepali Masirkar (IPS: 2008: NL) has been transferred from her current position as Director in the Election Commission of India to the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. The transfer has been approved on a lateral shift basis, as per an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on January 7, 2025.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has endorsed the recommendation of the Civil Services Board (CSB), officially shifting Masirkar to the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. Her tenure in the new role will last until May 3, 2027, which marks the balance period of her five-year tenure at the Director level under the central staffing scheme, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Deepali Masirkar, an experienced officer, will now focus on key tribal affairs and development issues in her new position, contributing her expertise to the government’s initiatives aimed at improving the lives of tribal communities across the country. Her previous work with the Election Commission of India will continue to benefit her in this role, as she takes on new responsibilities in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
