IPS officer Muniraj will take over the command of Ghaziabad as its new SSP. He has been posted temporarily, after the suspension of Pawan Kumar. Inspector-General of Police Sanjeev Gupta has directed him to take charge immediately. Mr. Muniraj who is a 2009-batch IPS officer has received the important task of banning rising crime in Ghaziabad as incidents of theft, dacoity, loot and chain snatching with women in public on the streets in Ghaziabad has increased in past few days.
Muniraj is originally from Tamil Nadu and had earlier been posted as Additional SP in Ghaziabad. He was currently posted in the election cell of the police headquarters. Muniraj is considered a flamboyant police officer and as superintendent of police, he was first posted in Chandauli in eastern UP.
