DGP of Tamil Nadu has sanctioned the assignment of 9 IPS officers in rescue and relief work.

In a communication statement forwarded by the Director-General of Police, Tamil Nadu, J.K. Tripathy has ordered all the officers deputed in each district to supervise cyclone related works apart from their routine work. IG (Idol Wing) TS Anbu has been told to take care of the works in Kancheepuram and Chengalpattu, whereas IG (Railways) V Vanitha has been asked to look after Tiruvallur district.
IG (Central Zone) HM Jayaram has been assigned relief works in Nagapattinam while IG (Training) MC Sarangan will be supervising Tiruchy, Perambalur, and Ariyalur. IG (North Zone) P Nagarajan has been made in charge of Cuddalore and IG (Armed Police, Tiruchy) Tamil Chandran in charge of Tiruvarur.
DIG (Training) M Sathya Priya will look after Villupuram, while DIG (Social Justice and Human Rights) R Lalitha Lakshmi will supervise Pudukkottai. DIG (Headquarters) PK Senthilkumari is in charge of Thanjavur.
