A 1996-batch IPS officer of the Karnataka cadre, Mr. Seemant Kumar Singh is widely regarded as one of the most dynamic and experienced police leaders in the state. Born on August 10, 1970, in Pakaria village of Bihar’s Banka district, he has held several high-impact positions throughout his distinguished career. His academic and professional journey also includes a mid-career training program in the United Kingdom, strengthening his exposure to global policing standards.

Mr. Singh’s contributions have been repeatedly recognized at the national level. He received the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service on Republic Day in 2014 and again on Independence Day in 2023. Humanitarian Leadership During the COVID-19 Crisis
One of the most defining chapters in Mr. Singh’s career came during the COVID-19 pandemic. As Inspector General of Police (Administration) in Bengaluru, he spearheaded massive humanitarian efforts for migrant workers. He ensured food arrangements for more than 100,000 migrants, facilitated ration distribution, and coordinated transportation and trains to help them return home safely.
