Dilbag Singh, Director General of Police J&K, decorated 21 police personnel from the 1999 JKPS batch with IPS rank and handed out appointment letters at a pipping ceremony held at Police Headquarters.
R R Swain, Special DG CID J&K, A K Choudhary, ADGP Armed J&K Sunil Kumar, IGP CID Nitish Kumar, IGP Hqrs./ CIV PHQ Bhim Sen Tuti, AsIG of PHQ and JDP PHQ Riyaz Ahmad Darzi were among those in attendance.
Congratulating and expressing delight over the induction of a large number of worthy officers into the IPS, DGP expressed heartfelt appreciation to Lt. Governor of J&K Manoj Sinha and his administration, officers at MHA and UPSC for their assistance in resolving the long-pending issue of inductions.
He said it is an honour for the J&K Police and the officers whose achievements were recognized, and that as IPS officers, they will have more responsibility and a larger platform to serve the country.
The DGP praised the contributions of the newly appointed officers and expressed optimism that they will continue to bring honor to the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
He also expressed his condolences to the officers’ families. All of the senior officers present congratulated the newly inducted officers and their families and wished them luck in their future endeavors.
In his welcoming address, IGP Hqrs/CIV B S Tuti stated that DGP J&K has personally taken a deep interest in the process and complimented officers of PHQ who worked tirelessly day and night to complete the induction process.
Twenty one officers who were decorated include Maqsood-ul-Zaman, Mubassir Latifi Ameer, Shiv Kumar, Smt Rashmi Wazir, Rajeshwar Singh, Sandeep Wazir, Smt Anita Sharma, Sameer Rekhi, Jatinder Singh Johar, Zahid Nasim Manhas, Koshal Kumar Sharma, Showkat Ahmed Dar, Altaf Ahmed Shah, Baker Hussain Samoon, Firdous Iqbal, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, Ranjit Singh Samyal, Muhammad Yaseen Kichloo, Rajesh Kumar Sharma, Sanjay Kotwal and Muhammad Aslam.
