Sudipta Das was released from his job as Superintendent of Police, Economic Offense, by the Tripura government on Monday. His services have been made available to the Government of India for his deputation to the National Security Guard (NSG) as Group Commander (SP level). Starting on the day he steps into the new position, this appointment will be in effect for the first five years, or until further notice.
The state administration was asked to immediately relieve Mr. Das from his existing duties to help him with his transition into the new job. On August 21, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs issued an order appointing Mr. Das to this position for a five-year tenure.
