14 IPS officers of UP cadre working on the post of Additional Director General of Police (ADG) can be given the designation of Special DG. State’s ADG Law and Order Prashant Kumar is also included in these IPS officers of 1990 and 1991 batch. Earlier, Brijlal, who was ADG law and order in the BSP government, was made special DG.
According to our sources, the Police Headquarters has sent a proposal to the Home Department of the Government regarding this. It is noteworthy that five IPS of the 1990 batch have already been promoted to the post of DG. These include Sandeep Salunke, Renuka Mishra, BK Maurya, SN Sabat and Avinash Chandra. Similarly, three are posted on central deputation. These include Daljit Singh Chaudhary, Tilottama Verma and Rajiv Ranjan Verma. Seven IPS of 1990 batch are currently posted on the post of ADG, who can be made special DG. These include Dr. Sanjay M. Tarde, MK Bashal, Tanuja Srivastava, Satish Mathur, Anju Gupta, Subhash Chandra and Prashant Kumar.
Similarly, there are seven ADGs in the 1991 batch who can be made special DGs. There are a total of eight IPS in this batch, out of which one Alok Sharma is posted on central deputation.
