In a significant administrative move, the Uttar Pradesh government carried out a major reshuffle in the state’s police service late Thursday night. Following the transfer of 17 IPS officers, 14 more officers (promotee) were reassigned to key positions, marking a decisive shift in the state’s law enforcement landscape. A total of 31 IPS officers had been transferred on 7th of Jan, 2025.
2010 batch IPS officer Dharamvir Singh has been appointed as the new DIG of the 6th Battalion PAC Meerut, while 2011 batch IPS officer Ajay Kumar will take on the role of Additional Police Commissioner at the Noida Commissionerate.
Arvind Chaturvedi, also an IPS officer of 2011 batch, has been assigned as DIG of Vigilance and Establishment in Lucknow.
In other notable appointments, Dinesh Singh has been made the DIG at the Director General of Police (DGP) office in Lucknow, and Arvind Kumar Maurya has been appointed as DIG of the Traffic Directorate in Lucknow. Subhash Chandra Shakya will now oversee the Prison Administration and Correctional Services, while Sameer Saurabh will serve as the Superintendent of Police (SP) for the C.B.C.I.D. in Prayagraj.
The reshuffle also sees Mohd. Irfan Ansari appointed as SP at the UP Police Headquarters in Lucknow, Rashmi Rani as SP at the Intelligence Headquarters in Lucknow, and Rajesh Kumar Srivastava as SP at the Headquarters of the DGP in Lucknow.
Additionally, Vishwajeet Srivastava has been appointed as Deputy Commissioner of Police at the Police Commissionerate, while Amrita Mishra takes on the role of SP at the DGP office in Lucknow. Laxmi Nivas Mishra has been given the responsibility of SP at the Anti-Corruption Bureau, and Maya Ram Verma will now serve as the SP of the Training School in Sultanpur.
These appointments reflect a focused strategy by the UP government to strengthen the state’s policing and administrative operations.
