According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT) on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, a Telangana cadre, 1994-batch IPS officer, Vinayak P Apte has been given extension as the Inspector General (Security), Department of Atomic Energy. The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal to extend the tenure of Apte for a period of three months with effect from June 1, 2022 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
