During a casual family visit, Mr. Sinha decided to embrace the moment, took the microphone, and began singing. Mr. Shalabh Kumar Sinha, an IPS officer of the 2014 batch from the Chhattisgarh cadre, hails originally from Jaipur district. Before joining the police service, he completed his mechanical engineering degree and briefly worked in the private sector. However, driven by public service aspirations, he left his job to prepare for the UPSC examination and achieved success in his fourth attempt. His journey reflects a blend of discipline, patience, and unwavering commitment.
Development-Focused Policing in Bastar
Currently serving as the SP of Bastar for the past one and a half years, Mr. Sinha has made significant contributions to development-oriented policing, especially in Naxal-affected zones. His earlier postings in challenging areas such as Sukma and Kanker highlight his role in strengthening security, establishing multiple security camps, and supporting critical infrastructure projects like interior-area road construction. His efforts have played an essential role in improving accessibility, enhancing trust, and bridging governance gaps in remote tribal regions.
