A 1992-batch IPS officer, Ritesh Kumar has been appointed as the new chief of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Pune (CID). The CID has been investigating the FIRs registered against former Mumbai Police Commissioner and DG Home Guards Param Bir Singh.
Kumar will replace Atulchandra Kulkarni who was formerly in charge of communications and transport. He will now head the Maharashtra Prisons department supplanting Sunil Ramanand.
Yashasvi Yadav, who was previously the Joint CP visitors, will now be the IG of Maharashtra cyber, a post that he held as an additional charge earlier.
Following the order, Additional Director General of Police and Chief Vigilance Officer of Maharashtra Housing and Regional Development Authority, Mumbai, Sanjay K. Verma has also been transferred to the post of Additional Director General of Police of Planning and Coordination. Sanjeev Singhal has been transferred to the post of Additional Director General of Police, Establishment, while Archana Tyagi has been transferred to the post of Additional Director General of Police and Joint Managing Director, Maharashtra State Police Housing and Welfare Corporation.
