The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has appointed Mr. Shashank Anand (2006-batch Haryana cadre IPS officer) as the Inspector General (IG) of the Border Security Force (BSF), Jammu sector.

He succeeds Mr. D.K. Boora, who has been transferred to BSF headquarters in Delhi after leading the Jammu Frontier for nearly four years.
Prior to this appointment, Mr. Anand served as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the BSF’s Punjab Frontier.
The BSF Jammu Frontier plays a crucial role in securing the nearly 200-km-long Indo-Pak international border, covering Kathua, Samba, and Jammu districts.
