The central government has promoted four IPS officers to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). These officers, currently serving as Superintendents of Police (SP) in the CBI, have been elevated to the DIG rank from the date they assume charge of the post. The tenure for each officer is specified below or until further orders.
List of Promotions:
- Ms. Shivani Tewari, a 2011-batch IPS officer of the Jharkhand cadre, has been promoted as DIG, CBI for a tenure up to March 9, 2028 (total five years).
- Mr. Manjunath Singe, a 2011-batch IPS officer of the Maharashtra cadre, has been promoted as DIG, CBI for a tenure up to February 29, 2028 (total five years).
- Mr. Pravinder Singh, a 2011-batch IPS officer of the AGMUT cadre, has been promoted to DIG, CBI for a tenure up to October 12, 2027 (total five years).
- Mr. Murali Rambha, a 2011-batch IPS officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre, has been promoted to DIG, CBI for a tenure up to July 7, 2026 (total five years).
These appointments align with the government’s efforts to ensure continuity and expertise in the leadership of the CBI, bolstering its investigative capabilities.
