In a significant stride towards public health, the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) organized an Awareness Session and Ni-Kshay Shivir (Screening Camp) at its Corporate Office in New Delhi. This initiative is part of the 100-Day Intensified Campaign on TB Elimination, spearheaded by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
Focus on TB Awareness and Screening
The event aimed at educating IREDA employees, including contractual staff, on TB prevention, early diagnosis, and treatment for silent TB infections. The Ni-Kshay Shivir provided on-site screening and consultations, encouraging timely medical intervention.
A dedicated team from the Centre TB Division, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, conducted the screenings and awareness sessions. During the event, IREDA’s Director (Finance), Dr. Bijay Kumar Mohanty, administered the “Ni-Kshay Shapath” (pledge for a TB-free India) to all employees through a virtual platform. The two-day Shivir will continue tomorrow.
Inauguration of Fitness Centre
In line with promoting overall well-being, Dr. Mohanty also inaugurated a new fitness centre at IREDA’s corporate office, providing employees with enhanced opportunities for health and wellness.
Commitment to Public Health and Social Responsibility
Highlighting IREDA’s commitment to public health, Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) Pradip Kumar Das stated, “Health and well-being are crucial for a productive workforce and a sustainable future. IREDA is happy to contribute to the national mission of a TB-free India through awareness and proactive screening efforts, in alignment with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.”
This initiative underscores IREDA’s dedication to social responsibility and its role in contributing to a healthier, TB-free India.
