Mr M J Chethan, an IRS officer from the 2009 batch, has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to HD Kumaraswamy, the Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel.
The appointment, which pertains specifically to the Ministry of Steel, was confirmed by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet and communicated through an order by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
Chethan’s term as OSD is set for five years, commencing from the date he assumes charge. His tenure will either conclude upon the Minister’s departure from office, the termination of Chethan’s role, or until further orders are issued, whichever occurs first.
