The Indian government has appointed Sunil Kumar Mall and Rajiv Kapoor as Chief Commissioners in the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) (Customs & Indirect Taxes) for the panel year 2025.
Sunil Kumar Mall, IRS (C&IT 1992), has been promoted to the grade of Chief Commissioner on an ad-hoc basis. He has also been appointed as the Chief Commissioner for the Ahmedabad GST & CX Zone. Mall has been elevated to Level-16 of the Pay Matrix (HAG+) following his empanelment and promotion.
Rajiv Kapoor, IRS (C&IT 1992), has been promoted to the grade of Chief Commissioner on a regular basis. He will also be in Level-16 of the Pay Matrix (HAG+), marking a significant step in his career in the Customs & Indirect Taxes sector.
Both promotions are part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership in the Indian Revenue Service, especially in key departments managing customs and indirect taxes.
