Over the past 10 years, a total of 853 Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officers have opted for voluntary retirement (VRS), Parliament was informed today. Elucidating on the matter, Minister of State for Finance Mr. Pankaj Chaudhary, stated that the figure includes 383 IRS (Income Tax) officers and 470 IRS (Customs & Indirect Taxes) officers who retired under VRS between 2014 and 2024. The data was presented in a written reply by the Minister to the Lok Sabha.
