Vadodara: Binay Kumar, a 1999-batch officer of the Indian Railways Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE), has been deputed to Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) as General Manager (Electrical). He will take charge at RVNL’s Vadodara office under PIU/Ahmedabad.
Deputation Tenure and Terms
Currently serving as Chief Electrical Engineer (Planning) in Western Railway, Kumar has been placed on deputation for a period of five years or until further orders. The appointment follows the Ministry of Railways’ standard deputation policy for senior officers to public sector undertakings.
Extensive Service Across Western Railway
Over the course of his career, Kumar has held several key postings within Western Railway. He has served in the EMU Workshop at Mumbai and worked across Ahmedabad, Bhavnagar, and Vadodara Divisions. His wide-ranging assignments in planning and operations have given him significant expertise in railway electrification and infrastructure management.
Strengthening RVNL’s Electrical Engineering Capacity
Kumar’s deputation is expected to strengthen RVNL’s technical and managerial capacity in executing large-scale rail infrastructure projects. His experience in electrical systems and divisional operations will be crucial in driving efficiency and innovation in project execution.
