Mr. Vinayak Garg, a 1995-batch officer of the Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE), has assumed the role of Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) for Central Railway’s Nagpur Division.
Before this, Mr. Garg served as the Commissioner of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS), contributing significantly to advancing the organisation’s objectives. He also held the position of Chief Vigilance Officer at the India Tourism Development Corporation under the Ministry of Tourism, focusing on transparency and governance.
An alumnus of IIT Roorkee, where he earned a BTech (Hons.) in Electrical Engineering, Mr. Garg also holds an MBA in Project Management from Sikkim Manipal University.
As DRM, Mr. Garg prioritises operational efficiency, passenger satisfaction, and freight business growth. He is overseeing infrastructure development projects worth Rs. 800-1,000 crore, emphasizing safety, security, and convenience. Additionally, he has called for enhancements to the Railway Protection Force’s CCTV monitoring system to ensure better incident prevention and detection.
