New Delhi: Anurag Anand, a senior officer of the Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers (IRSSE), 2007 batch, has taken charge as General Manager (Signal & Telecommunication) at Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL). In this capacity, he will oversee the implementation and monitoring of key infrastructure projects, including the BharatNet project in Western Uttar Pradesh, aimed at strengthening last-mile digital connectivity for e-governance, education, healthcare, and broader digital inclusion initiatives.
Professional Career and Experience
Mr Anand brings over 17 years of experience in railway operations, signaling, and telecommunications. Prior to his current assignment at RVNL, he held several senior positions within the Delhi Division of Indian Railways, one of the busiest divisions in the country, including:
- Deputy Chief Signal and Telecommunication Engineer (Dy. CSTE) at Northern Railway Headquarters
- Senior Divisional Signal and Telecommunication Engineer (Sr. DSTE/Coordination)
In his current role at RVNL, Mr Anand is responsible for implementing high-impact projects and ensuring modernization and operational safety across various railway zones. He is serving a five-year deputation from Northern Railway at the corporate office in New Delhi.
Mr Anand began his career as a probationary engineer at Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), gaining early technical and project management experience before joining Indian Railways.
