The Union Government, through an order issued from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), mandated Mr. Shashi Bhushan Singh (2010-batch IRTS officer) to assume office as the new Secretary (at the Director level) of the National Jute Board in Kolkata under the Ministry of Textiles for a period of five years or until further orders, whichever transpires earlier.
The order read, “He (Officer Singh) may kindly be relieved of his duties immediately with instructions to take up his new assignment. However, in view of the declaration of election to the Lok Sabha, if the officer is on election-related duty, he may kindly be relieved after due clearance from the Election Commission of India to take up his new assignment in the Ministry of Textile.”
