In a move to strengthen urban governance and public services, Jharkhand Chief Minister Mr. Hemant Soren on Thursday handed over appointment letters to newly selected candidates under the Urban Development and Housing Department. The event was held at the Ministry located in Project Bhawan, where successful candidates expressed joy and gratitude after receiving their appointment letters.
Mr. Soren congratulated the appointees and said, “From today, you all are part of the state government. Your contribution will be crucial in improving urban infrastructure and civic amenities.”
Emphasis on Systematic Urban Growth Amid Rapid Urbanization
Addressing the growing challenges of urban sprawl, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of planned urban development. He noted that increasing migration from rural to urban areas is expanding the population and geographical footprint of cities.
“If urban growth remains unplanned, it can lead to complex issues in the future,” he cautioned, adding that the newly appointed officials would play a pivotal role in ensuring efficient urban management and infrastructure development in the state.
New Tourism Website and Logo Unveiled to Enhance Jharkhand’s Global Visibility
On the same occasion, Mr. Soren launched the newly redesigned websites of the Jharkhand Tourism Department and the Jharkhand Tourism Development Corporation (JTDC). The CM also unveiled a new tourism logo, reflecting a refreshed identity and global outreach for the state’s growing tourism potential.
“This new digital platform will help in showcasing Jharkhand’s unique tourist destinations on national and international platforms,” Mr. Soren stated.
Tourism as a Driver of Jobs and Rural Prosperity
Highlighting tourism as a key pillar of the state’s economic strategy, Mr. Soren explained that the government is making focused efforts to develop tourism infrastructure, especially in rural and remote areas.
“Tourism development will not only generate employment opportunities but also promote local products, cultural heritage, and eco-tourism,” he said. The CM added that enhanced tourism will increase state revenues and contribute to inclusive and sustainable development.
Government’s Vision for Holistic Growth
Minister Mr. Sudivya Kumar Sonu and other senior officials were present at the occasion, reaffirming the government’s commitment to job creation, urban renewal, and promotion of tourism.
With systematic efforts being rolled out in urban planning and tourism, Jharkhand is positioning itself as a dynamic state focused on employment, infrastructure, and inclusive development.
