Jharkhand Cabinet Approves 33 Key Proposals to Boost Development, Education, Healthcare, and Infrastructure

Ranchi: In a crucial meeting chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the Jharkhand Cabinet today approved 33 significant proposals aimed at advancing administrative reforms, accelerating development projects, and enhancing public services across the state. The decisions reflect the state government’s commitment to improving infrastructure, education, healthcare, and wildlife conservation, and are seen as key steps in reinforcing the state’s developmental agenda for the upcoming fiscal year.

Major Decisions in Education and Healthcare

The Cabinet approved several important initiatives to bolster the education and healthcare sectors. Among the highlights:

  • 38 crore INR was approved for the construction of a new degree college in Balumath to enhance access to higher education.
  • The Cabinet approved the promotion of government associate professors at RIMS (Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences) to ensure quality education and career progression for faculty members.
  • In a disciplinary action, the medical officer at Godda Sadar Hospital has been suspended following allegations of misconduct.

Infrastructure Development and Road Projects

In the realm of infrastructure, the Cabinet greenlit several road construction projects to improve connectivity and bolster the state’s infrastructure framework:

  • 127 crore INR was approved for road development in Godda.
  • The Cabinet sanctioned 61 crore INR for road construction in Sahebganj.
  • Approval was given for the construction of a bridge over the Koel River on the Daltenganj-Chaipur road to enhance connectivity in that region.
  • 140 crore INR was allocated for the Bano road project in Gumla.

These projects are expected to improve road infrastructure, boost regional connectivity, and stimulate economic growth in rural and semi-urban areas.

Key Wildlife and Administrative Decisions

The Cabinet also addressed important matters in wildlife conservation and administrative processes:

  • The government approved the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the Vulture Breeding Project, aimed at conserving endangered species.
  • An important decision was made regarding the state’s dam safety, with the Dam Safety Act being passed and the State Dam Safety Committee receiving approval.
  • The 2026 Government Holiday Calendar was also approved, ensuring a clear and standardized schedule for public holidays.
  • The Cabinet further approved the Audit Report (AG) clearance, facilitating transparency and accountability in government finances.

Enhancing Public Services and Governance

The government’s initiatives are not just aimed at infrastructure but also focus on administrative reforms to improve governance and service delivery. These changes are expected to streamline the functioning of various government departments, ensuring faster and more efficient service to the public.
