Ranchi: On Tuesday, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren chaired a high-level meeting to review the preparations for the upcoming Budget session in the Jharkhand Assembly. The meeting discussed the state’s economic priorities, emphasizing strengthening the rural economy and promoting women empowerment as key focuses for the budget. The Chief Minister also highlighted the investment opportunities discussed at the World Economic Forum in Davos, emphasizing their potential to foster development and create jobs in the state.

Chief Minister’s Emphasis on a Strong Budget Framework

In the meeting, CM Soren stressed that the budget should act as a roadmap for the state’s development. He underscored the importance of a comprehensive and robust preparation process, ensuring that the budget reflects the government’s long-term vision for growth, infrastructure, and social development.

During the review, CM Soren also referred to his participation in the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, where he engaged in bilateral talks with global policymakers, industrial leaders, and international investors. These discussions have opened up potential avenues for new investments in Jharkhand. The Chief Minister instructed officials to explore how these investment opportunities can be effectively tied to the state’s development, focusing on job creation, industrial expansion, and overall economic growth.

In line with the state’s commitment to inclusive growth, CM Soren emphasized the importance of tribal welfare programs and scholarship schemes in the upcoming budget. He called for ensuring that these initiatives are properly funded to support the state’s tribal communities and educational advancement.

Preparing for the Budget Session: Ensuring Timely and Organized Execution

CM Soren directed the officials to ensure that the budget session is held on time and that all preparations are made meticulously. He noted that the finance department’s role is crucial in this process, and there should be no compromises on the quality of the session’s execution. He also instructed the authorities to prepare for both the ruling party and opposition’s questions, ensuring smooth discussions around the budget and its provisions.

The meeting was attended by key officials, including Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore, Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, Development Commissioner Ajay Kumar Singh, and senior officers from the Finance Department, including Finance Secretary Prashant Kumar.

The meeting’s outcomes signal the state government’s commitment to creating a balanced and forward-thinking budget that addresses both immediate needs and long-term goals. With a focus on empowering women, boosting the rural economy, and capitalizing on investment opportunities, the 2026 budget is expected to set a clear path for Jharkhand’s sustainable development.
